Small update:
I updated the box to 0.24, svn 27240.
Has been running for a short while:

%CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
 5.9 1.8 1734384 69172 ? SNsl Dec04 63:07 /usr/bin/mythbackend -
 5.9 1.9 1734384 72456 ? SNsl Dec04 150:04 /usr/bin/mythbackend -
 6.0 2.1 1734520 79948 ? SNsl Dec04 240:24 /usr/bin/mythbackend -
 6.1 2.2 1734920 83672 ? SNsl Dec04 329:25 /usr/bin/mythbackend -

The trend looks the same.

So I installed a profile build with valgrind enabled.
After that I tested the backend for a short while and started a valgrind
session by running:
valgrind --leak-check=full --show-reachable=yes --log-file=valgrind.log
mythbackend --daemon --user mythtv --logfile
/var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log --pidfile /var/run/mythbackend.pid

Is that OK?

I'll try to leave valgrind running for at least 4 hours.

Kind regards,
Udo
