[mythtv-users] YCbCr444 vs RGB and other questions

Last night I had some time to sit down and play with my Frontend based
on the Judder Free wiki page
(http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/User_Manual:JudderFree) but in the process
of this I delved in to some of the Nvidia settings and realized I had
more options than I realized.

My TV is a Toshiba 55SV670u (LED local dimming back-lit) and supports
via HDMI 10 bit 4:4:4 and 12 bit 4:4:4. I've been using RGB output
via my 8400GS but as I was playing around I noticed a dropdown where I
could select "Colorspace YCbCr444" with "Color Range Limited" as well
as the normal "Colorspace RGB" and Colorspace as either "Limited" or
"Full".

With the Colorspace locked as Limited am I correct in assuming that is
giving me 16-235 as opposed as 0-255 if I choose to use YCbCr444?
Would I then stop using the vdpaustudio filter (but continue using
vdpaucolorspace=auto)?

I switched on the YCbCr444 and the picture got very dark and colors
seemed a bit more vibrant. I'll need to go back and set white / black
levels again to correct the darkness.

What's the best option? RGB or YCbCr444?

There was also a Nvida setting for Dithering. Should Dithering be
used or disabled? I'd like the picture to be as natural as possible
without added effects...

Anyone play with these options or have opinions?

Thanks!

Neil
