I have an HVR-1600 and I use it for simultaneous digital (QAM-256) and
analog (Channel 3 TV-Out NTSC from my cable box to MPEG2) capture with
MythTV. It's been working great for me for several months, and I am very
happy with the picture quality.

My card worked out-of-the-box with Ubuntu 10.04. There was no need to copy
over any firmware files, although I did notice that there were later
versions of the firmware available from LinuxTV.

Hope that helps...

Dave
