I would add three steps:

  2.2) If needed, install yum-utils for the package-cleanup util
  2.4)  run 'package-cleanup --orphans' to determine
         which rpms are now orphaned (having been
         installed via a now non-existant repo)
  2.6) Remove those rpms identified in (2.4), and
        plan to reinstall via atrpm.
