I probably need a catchier title, but following my post below a few weeks ago, I've not had any replies, and have also still not managed to make any progress. I have also tried the 0.24 auto-builds, but this didn't make any difference.
I can scan and find DVB-S channels, but no DVB-T channels are found (signal strength fine). For DVB-S, Live TV not working nor is EIT data.
I will of course keep trying things, but if anyone has any pointers they would be much appreciated. I would like to not have to revert to 9.10 and myth 0.22........

HVR4000, MythTV 0.23, Ubuntu 10.04 - at my wits end, again!

Hi All,
Following my post some months ago where I had lost my EIT data on my HVR4000 (http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/435629?search_string=plainface;#435629) - after being unable to fix this after trying lots of things I decided to try an upgrade to mythtv 0.23 and Ubuntu 10.04.
10.04 is good for me as I can now use HDMI on my TV due to the overscan options in the nvidia settings (which were missing before), and whilst Ubuntu itself is great, I've been unable to get mythtv working.

I've tried all combinations of drivers and firmware. (Previously I was using Firmware v1.22.82.0 and drivers v4l-dvb-20091103).
I've followed latest recommendations (as per http://craigosaurous.blogspot.com/2010/04/mythtv-023-and-wintv-hvr-4000.html) and various other combinations - though I notice the 20091103 drivers are no longer available.
All other settings (open card on demand etc etc) should be fine as I had everything working ok before, but the best I have been able to do is to get the DVB-S to scan all channels and I can watch live TV, but I still have no EIT data so I can't schedule recordings. No DVB-T - signal strength fine, but doesn't find any channels.
I've reinstalled everything from scratch loads of times and enabled the auto-builds all to no avail. I lost my frontend for several attempts, but then after updating it came back. Latest - mythtv won't even connect to the database - no uPNP etc.
This is really frustrating - I had a reasonably working system on karmic and myth 0.22 - I suppose I could go back to this, but I would much prefer to get this working on 10.04 if at all possible.

Does anyone know how to get this card working with 10.04 and 0.23??
(If I do get it working, I'm then concerned if I left auto-builds on it would stop working again and I'd be back to square one).

I know I'm still a relative newbie to linux and myth etc but is this sort of painful experience normal? Although I had anticpated some problems/fun, I have now probably had mythtv in a non-working state longer than I have had it working !

Thanks for ANY help! :-)
