[mythtv-users] the correct way to prefer a (i.e. digital) tuner

I have a backend running 0.23.1-fixes.

It has one clearqam digital tuner with 3 multirecs on it as well as
several (3-4, IIRC) Hauppauge PVR-{150,250,500} tuners in it.  Most
channels are available on both the digital and analog tuners but when
possible, I would like to prefer grabbing the digital broadcast from the
clearqam tuner as it's clearer, and the files smaller.

I have seen quite a bit of debate about the correct way to do this (and
seem to recall that boosting the priority of the digital tuner in
mythtv-setup is NOT the correct way to do it) but I wonder what really
is the correct way.

Please advise.
