I'm having a problem with mythgame that is driving me crazy. I open up a
rom with mame and it plays fine, but there's no sound at all. When I hit
escape to exit the rom, the screen freezes and I need to open another
terminal window with alt-F2 and type
$killall -9 mame
to exit.
When I look at the output from mythtvfrontend it says:

Mame works fine from the desktop. I wondered if this was a sound issue,
on account of the AudioPulseUtil message in the log, but everything I've
done fails to correct it. These steps are:
Changing the audio output device from pulseaudio:default / /dev/dsp /
/dev/adsp / JACK:output / ALSA: default / ALSA: front and so on
I've removed pulseaudio, but this had no effect
I've enabled OSS (and installed the ALSA-oss module) but this also
didn't help
Sound otherwise works okay in ALSA: front and /dev/dsp. I use mplayer
for videos (for the better subtitle support) and have OSS enabled for that.
The ALSA version is 0.21, which is the latest that is enabled in the
fedora kernel, although 0.23 is also installed. I'm running Fedora 13
kernel 2.6.33.6-147.2.4.fc13.i686.PAE My hardware Phenom II x2 550 BE
CPU; Asus M3N-H/HDMI Motherboard; Nvidia 9800 graphics card.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can sort this out?
