[mythtv-users] Sound Issues, pt 1

Hi people,

I am running myth via svn ( for a good while now ) and updated it last night.  Well, this resulted in me
losing all sound from any video source (recordedtv, movies, etc).  Given my system uses spdif out to an
audio receiver, I verified reciever was still on and volume up.  I then used alsamixer to verify the audio
options weren't muted or something else wacky.  Then I remembered some updates were done to how audio was 
setup, and thus went and checked it out.  Long story short, I discovered that I could only get sound if I set
it to 'stereo' vs 5.1.  BTW: i'm not using pulseaudio.  Below are some log clips based off of some things I 
tried...  Can anyone clue me in to why I can't get 5.1 audio to work?
