I hit lucky with the Samsung I've got - it actually does 'native
resolution' if you plug a computer into the HDMI1 port (which is also
labelled DVI). Many TVs, particularly at the lower end of the size
range do not support full pixel mode (or any of the other names it
called) and will treat it as being a TV signal - stretching it to get
overscan and then cropping it. Some will not report their native
resolution either - we've some Sanyos at work and they will only
report 1280x768 via VGA, so you always get some horizontal resampling
with all the artifacts that creates.

Trouble is, hardly any of the manufacturers actually have any
information in the specs that is any help in finding out if the TV
has this facility.
