Have 3 of these cases.  Using Zotac boards.

When you talk about case fans are you thinking about mounting to the
front or the top mounts that would need the bracket?

Not sure about your install, but the front type mount wouldn't really
work because in my case the Ram simms block most of the air flow.

These cases have very good air flow.  I removed the chipset fan that
came with the motherboard for a long time.  I put it back on yesterday
after feeling the temp on the heat sink.

The fan that comes with the Zotac is quiet, but is definitely
noticeable when used in a bedroom.

Looks like a very quiet fan, but not sure about the power usage.  Info
doesn't go into much detail.  If I was to go this route I would
replace the current fan with this.  Attached to the heat sink.

Anything I put in these cases needs to be about 10mm thick.
