This is definitely a subset of #799 (and discussed at, among other
places,
<URL:http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/227272#227272>,
in particular Gregorio's message). #6430 is a duplicate.
r20311, which was committed a year ago, doesn't solve the issue, at
least not completely; I still see the disparity between the displayed
and actual recording times with recordings from 1) cable channels via
FireWire (typically the premium-movie ones; other channels vary), or
2) NBC or ABC recordings via FireWire or over-the-air ATSC.
Other points to consider:
* The NBC/ABC recording times' disparity is not consistent; each
week's episode of a given show can and will differ, I presume based
on how it was encoded.
* Similar to how the NBC issue began, the issue began appearing on ABC
after KGO, the local affiliate, changed its encoding method
(<URL:http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/417094#417094>)
in December 2009.
* MythWeb always displays correct elapsed recording times under
"Length."
