I think you have two options.  First, you can do the re-scan, which is
what I did when faced with this situation and I ended up doing a lot
of manual "fixing" of the channels afterward.  Second, you can look at
the scte65scan script.  There is a command-line option that will scan
for QAM channels.  I think this might be the cleaner option.  However,
I did not go this route because it was recommended that I wipe out all
my video sources first, and this meant I would lose all the setup work
I had done for my HD-PVR.  Short of wiping out the video sources my
only other option was to mess with the files that the scte65scan
script created and/or the MythTV mysql tables, which I didn't want to
do.

Of course this is coming from an "average" MythTV user.  Maybe some of
the experts have some better ideas.
