Have you tested AC3 and DTS? 

The reason I ask is that you have different devices specified for normal audio
output and AC3/DTS streams. 

Also, if you can send through your /etc/asound.conf file (if you are using global
settings) or $HOME/.asoundrc file (if you are using local settings)... it may help..
