By reading the release notes I'm discovering yet another hidden feature!

Great, thanks for that!

This was now added to my list of filters.

I went a bit in trac and looked at the list of filter options for VDPAU:

      * vdpaubuffersize (VDPAU video buffer size)
      * vdpauivtc (Enabling VDPAU inverse telecine, requires Basic or
        Advanced deinterlacer
      * vdpauskipchroma (Enabling SkipChromaDeinterlace)
      * vdpaudenoise (VDPAU Denoise )
      * vdpausharpen (VDPAU Sharpen)
      * vdpaucolorspace (ITU BT601 and ITU BT709 colour spaces)
      * vdpaustudio (Studio levels)
      * vdpauhqscaling (HQ scaling)

Wow!

It would be excellent if someone with knowledge could give a brief
explanation of what all this does, what parameters they take and
how/when to use them.

If there are other options I missed, please add.

I will then put that in the wiki for all to see.


I know that devs prefer to code rather than document, and that is fine
by me, but at some point there must be a tiny bit of documentation,
otherwise the code will be used only by themselves and users miss out!
