Do you mean a "minute" pause as in a "small" pause? Or do you mean a pause
of 
60 seconds?

The former might be tolerable, the latter would definitely be a showstopper.

Or, to put it another way, how long is the pause you are talking about?

It is a split second but happens like every few mins when using VDPAU, which
is only required for greater than 720p recordings. So it not all playback
where you see this, only video with 1080i or p.
