I know you said you checked and double checked,but did you make sure the 
user that's running myth has the correct permissions? In my case greg 
runs myth..Is this a serial blaster? If so perhaps the serial port 
permissions need to be changed to allow the myth user to access the 
serial port... It almost has to be a permissions problem..Other than 
that i am out of suggestions...
