Hm, forget that. I don't know why, but it works OK now for the last few
days.

I run gentoo with 2.6.30-r6, patched DVB-frontend-driver as pointed out
by Michel, and it looks as all the recordings are valid .... so I will
for now just leave it as it is. No 2.6.31 for now ;-)
