Gaming controllers are not very satisactory for controlling media viewing
(besides looking silly).

Radio Shack sells a $20 "Gamer Pro" remote that will control the media and
other related functions of an Xbox-360, PSx or a media PC. The ergonomics are
not that great, but it does work, and it can learn other control codes for
other devices.
