Well, fsck.xfs is a nop (it's basically /bin/true), but xfs_check and xfs_repair 
didn't show anything too surprising.

But check this out:

root at mythmaker:~# xfs_db -c frag -r /dev/sda7
actual 17379, ideal 98, fragmentation factor 99.44%
root at mythmaker:~# xfs_db -c frag -r /dev/sdb1
actual 4268, ideal 53, fragmentation factor 98.76%

So both of my XFS filesystems are massively fragmented; I'll defrag
them and see if that makes my problems go away; and change the
allocsize.
