Okay, solved my own problem by changing the playback profile from
cpu++ to high quality. I must have broken something while mucking
around trying to find decent playback settings for sports (american
football). My recordings all come from an HDHomerun.

Here's the real problem: I've read the deinterlacing and playback
profiles articles in the Wiki ... but my question is even more basic:
how do I figure out what the resolution, framerate, etc. of my
recordings actually are, so I can apply all the info from the wiki?
can this be done from within myth? If I'm using an HDhomerun, will I
always be getting the same type of recordings out?

Apologies for the stupid question but I have not been successful with
google on this.
