Sorry, I seem to have missed your earlier note.  I still don't have
SPDIF hooked up on my own system, so I'm not sure if it works.  The
old version of the plugin used a custom-made player that was based on
the squeezeslave player, and that might have caused problems for SPDIF
out.  It now uses an instance of a real squeezeslave player and simply
provides a control interface.  Theoretically, if you can get
squeezeslave to output over SPDIF you can get this system to do the
same thing.

I remember that we tried this last time, and I'm not sure if we had
any success.  However, there has been a bunch of development on
squeezeslave and it might now work if it didn't before.  If you want
to test it, pull the latest squeezeslave code from here:
http://code.google.com/p/squeezeslave/  There is a command line switch
that will show you the available audio devices for squeezeslave to
use, and you can then select that device through another command line
switch.  If it works, let me know and I'll see what I can do about
exposing this functionality in the plugin.
