Sure, the kernel driver and X driver are from the ivtv folks, but  
there's a bunch of (mostly unmaintained) code in mythtv to make use of  
them. Just relaying what I've heard.

Yes, its only relevant for SDTV, and I don't think there's a  
particularly huge user base for it, given how limited its usefulness  
is these days. Sure, its great for SDTV mpeg2, but it really sucks for  
anything else.
