I just thought i would share my success story. The magic combination was:
 
Disable everything related to Alarm wakeup in BIOS
Disable HPET in Bios
Pass hpet=disable to kernel
Use the "relative" time as an argument to /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm (i.e: +300 if you want wakeup 5mins from now).
 
Funny, because all docs I have found states that you should pass an epoch as argument to wakealarm...
