Yep, I've done exactly that with my old Core Duo 1.66GHz Mac Mini, as  
has Scott. Among other places, I've also got one in a ThinkPad T61  
where I'm doing most of my prodding these days, now that the driver is  
stable and functional on newer and 64-bit kernels.
