I agree. Any sort of processing you would do in the cloud would
limited by the bandwidth required. You could do it locally with all
but the most anemic processor faster than you could upload it and
redownload it. The only two sorts of video processing that I can think
of are transcoding and commercial skipping. It just doesn't make
sense. Most cloud processing jobs are those that are computationally
intensive but not data intensive (e.g. protein folding, searching from
prime numbers, etc). Video processing doesn't fit the bill.

If you are talking about some sort of shared tuners and sharing
recordings that is illegal in most places and definitely illegal in
the US where the mythtv project is hosted. So I wouldn't even bring
that up on the list and I wouldn't plan on any support from the myth
devs.
