[mythtv-users] Compiling for debugging and mythmusic

I have what is probably a stupid question:  Does the makefile for the
mythmusic plugin honor the --compile-type parameter on the configure script?
The reason that I ask is that I have compiled (from trunk) with this option
(set for debug) for both the mythtv directory and the mythplugins directory
hoping to capture some backend segfaults I have been experiencing while
switching channels watching live TV.  The configure script shows the debug
option in the mythtv directory, but I get no confirmation when running the
configure script in the mythplugins directory.  After having installed the
debug version,  my frontend has segfaulted no less than four times while
playing music in mythmusic and I am getting no traceback at all in the
mythfrontend.log.  Is it possibly a core file I'm looking for, or is the
debug just not on for this (or any) plugin?
