Nope - I'm having the same issue with glibc (on Gentoo) - it's using up
100% CPU (on a new 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Celeron).

I think it may be kernel related - I had the same issue with my old
system and that seemed to go away with an older kernel.  I'll try
rebuilding the old kernel version and check.
