NO!!!

You want the same voltage as the original. More current capacity than the 
original is OK, but more voltage is NOT.

Unless, of course, you are familiar with the unit's design, and know for a 
fact that it can accept a higher voltage, because it has onboard voltage 
regulation.

But I would find a 5 volt unit, since that's what you know will work.
