[mythtv-users] New release of scte65scan (mainly for Comcast users)

A couple tidbits that I've learned:
1) previous version (0.2) of scte65scan had some issues where the xmlid
wouldn't get properly associated with the channels (or maybe it was me?). I
had a long side thread with Dennis and finally tried the new 0.2.1 tonight.
I had to first clear out some cruft from previous attempts with mysql:
DELETE FROM dtv_multiplex WHERE sourceid=5;
DELETE FROM dtv_multiplex WHERE sourceid=2;
etc
Now it works great! woohoo!
2) getting the VCT ID from a DCT6200:
1. The DVR should be turned on. Press CABLE, POWER to turn off the box.
2. Immediately press OK/SELECT to bring up the diagnostics page.
3. several pages later there's a number that matches your VCT_ID. For me
the correct VCT_ID is 3059 and this screen just showed "59". I'd already
found out the VCT_ID through process of elimination so I was just looking
for confirmation.
3) Dennis rules! :)
thanks for the help and especially this kickass tool. Now I'll spend some
time making sure all is well before getting a HVR-2250 to replace my
PVR-500. I can't live with <2 tuners now. ;)
