[mythtv-users] Transcoding using x264 ffmpeg ubuntu?

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, I'm now using Mythnuv2mkv,
(one pass med quality seems to give reasonable results for me, and
takes just a bit longer than real time).

I might investigate handbrake too soon.
