This may be a bit off topic, but this seems like the right crowd to ask.

I'm thinking of adding this ZOTAC ZT-96TES3D-FSP GeForce 9600 GT 512M card (
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500070) to my
desktop machine, which will be running Windows 7 (it's a Dell XPS Gen 5 w/ a
Pentium D & 4gb of ram) and I was wondering if it would be up to the task of
playing a Blu-Ray. Does the windows equivelent of VDPAU take enough of the
load that my loaly 3ghz Pentuim D system would be able to play a blu-ray?
My media center room has my main myth box driving my flat panel display, but
due to the unique layout of my room, and my foresight in running two hdmi
cables through the wall from my desk to where my tv resides, I was thinking
I could put a Blu-ray drive in the box, use it to rip discs for
archive/mythvideo purposes, but also use it to watch a rented/netflixed
movie on occasion on my big tv. Any idea if the rest of my system would be
up to the task?

My myth-relevant question about the card would concern future Myth/Linux
use: would the hdmi port and/or the display port be supported with the
linux proprietary linux drivers? I use two 19" flat panel displays for my
desktop machine, so having two DVI ports, and three other ports that would
potentially work wiith a TV would seem to make this card seem like a decent
mythtv accessory down the line. Has anyone else in mythland tried this
bugger?
