    You don't need full power to see your way up the stairs.

    More than anything else, this is more about people thinking that
gross overkill is bare necessity. (imagine that attitude on a homebrew
overkill DVR mailing list)

     You would have to not really be trying to manage that.

     This is the age of Google. A casual web search will find you a 42Watt
CFL in 5 minutes.

     No this is more about you being set in your ways. That's fine. To
each their own. You shouldn't kid yourself about it though.
