Hmm.

Downside: It's on a swamp, which isn't conducive to stable storage. 
It's also in the middle of a population center.

Upside: They don't have a vote in either house of Congress, which makes 
it politically easier.  I understand one of the main reasons Yucca 
Mountain was chosen as the sole site is Nevada only had one 
congressional rep at the time. ;)
