[mythtv-users] Could not connect to the master backend server

Ok, to be completely clear:
You installed mythtv, after that you ran mythtv-setup and connected the 
frequncies/channumbers to the guidedate you grabbed?
This one is very imortant, if you don't connect the 2 you see guide 
data, but can't tune. I don't exactly know how the frontend reacts when 
it cannot tune via the backend, but it might be in this way.

When starting mythfrontend you were asked to give in a pin in case of 
upnp or the IP-adres of the backend?

After that you can check in frontend: configuration >> general >> 
database if the settings are correct. Did you set the backend to listen 
on the loop-device or public IP(like 192.168.x.x or 10.0.x.x)? you could 
use netstat -an | grep 6543 where you can see if the backend is 
listening on the right device.

Please make sure everything is configured correctly, including the 
channelnumbers.
