   The only problem I would see with 64-bit is proprietary binaries and this
could be quite a show stopper (binary drivers, libraries or browser plugins).

   Sure there are workarounds but that complicates things.

   My backend chugs away happily as a 64-bit system. All of my "client" boxes
remain 32 bit though.
