I have another working HD-5500, so it does not appear to be software.  I only 
have 3 PCI slots in my backend, but all three work with the good card, and 
none work with the bad.  (I check using "lspci | grep CX2388" and "dmesg | 
grep cx88"... I'd love to hear if there's a better way to test this)
