I had problems with the novaT-500 when upgrading from Intrepid to
Jaunty. The problem I experienced was that I could not tune into any
channels. I resolved the issue by downgrading the firmware from 1.20
to 1.10, then power cycling the computer.

Now you are not running Jaunty but I am wondering if somehow it is
related. What version of firmware are you running?
