[mythtv-users] How to get 5.1 dts spdif out from ac3 sources?

I'm looking for a way cause stored TV playback audio to be DTS out the
digital port as my amp doesn't decode ac3.
The Sony amplifier I have accepts digital audio and has an internal DTS
decoder, and of course PCM, but not an AC3 decoder.
I have a normal, if a bit old, ICH5 / AC97 iec958 digital output card on
the asus board. I've tinkered with it alot, the best I can do is
settle for normal stereo or get two of the surround channels only.
What with all the pluggable this and gstreamer that, there should be a
way to send all myth output to be separated into their separate streams
and then encoded into dts and send out the digital port.
I know I can run a pair of analog cables for each of the channels but
that creates hum, ground loops, not the best d/a conversion, etc. etc.
So, what's the mythtv configuration recipe to have all the audio myth
knows how to make get converted to digital dts and sent out the digital
port? (Extra points for allowing system audio and other alerts to share
the output process!!!)
And -- for double extra points -- craft a network stream or DTS coming
_IN_ an spdif port to get mixed in to the output channel as well.
This, so a few computers that might need attention can multitask one
amp and eliminate the 'change the input source' manual step on the amp).
