Well, now we're frustrated. I swapped cards tonight. The 8400GS is now
in this machine, and it's obviously working. The 6200 is in the
MythBox, and it doesn't work. Well, it works until it's time to start
X, then it stops working, or at least stops displaying. If I jump back
to another text VT, I can login and do a ps against my ID, and see that
my session has started up - X is running, all of the icewm programs are
running, etc. It's just that nothing comes on the screen.

Both systems are using nvidia-drivers-180.60, by the way.

I've looked again at the Radeon card on Newegg, and on the Sapphire
website. According to the blurbs, it does s-video, composite, and
component video. But according to the picture it only has the hardware
to do s-video or composite. Because I use the s-video path from the
Comcast cable box to the TV, on the back-panel I only have component
video available, so I'd really prefer to use that. I guess it's time to
see if the other adapter is available out there, maybe write to Sapphire.
