I guess that no one really knows what is happening here. I know I don't!

I am worried this is hardware ralated on the frontend machine in some 
way, but I don't know where to start.

I'm wondering if the i810 driver:
xorg-x11-drv-i810-1.6.5-9.21.el5 and the xserver version of:
xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.1.1-48.52.el5 just aren't up to the job of 
rendering the mpeg2 stream.

If I ever get my head round this and solve it I will post back on here.
