[mythtv-users] Digital Audio - HDMI vs SPD/IF

I'm just about to spring for a new receiver/speaker combo, and a  
couple of threads on this list gave me some pause for thought:

Given that currently Audio over HDMI is limited to Stereo, wouldn't I  
be better off just sending video over HDMI, and use the optical for  
full 5/7.1/2 goodness?

Given that the mythtv box has spdif out and the tv also, as long as  
the receiver has 2 optical inputs we should be all right?
