OK, thanks, I got sound now ...  but it's quite choppy, I guess this is
related to pulseaudio issues :-(

But I'm seeing this in the output:

2009-07-13 23:22:21.011 AudioPulseUtil: Suspend Success

And resume on exit.

Anyone know what is up with this?

Do I need to manually suspend pulseaudio before running myth?
