Workarounds for the disappearing Myth menus have been covered in this 
thread (and others) already, but I have now had a response from the BBC 
iPlayer team about the iPlayer Desktop, which is supposed to allow 
time-limited programme downloads.

AFAICT it doesn't, but at least I have an explanation.
