In the past I used:
http://pvrhw.goldfish.org/tiki-pvrhwdb.php
It's an overview of hardware that seems to work(back then mostly 
BT787-clones and by compiling the PVR350 I bought for it's TV-out)
I like the format of that database and it's already linked on the wiki.
