Howdie. I have been using MythTV since 0.18 (now 0.20) on my own box, and
never had a lot of trouble with channel listings, including the transition
to Schedules Direct.
However, I am setting up a box for a friend with 0.21, compiled from
mythtv-0.21.tar.bz2, using a Hauppague PVR-350, and I cannot get the
channels to set up probperly from SchedulesDirect -- but I don't believe
the problem is with SD, per se. I use an HTTP proxy, it is configured in
the environment before I start mythtv-setup, and it is able to authenticate
to SD and download data just fine. The problem does not appear to be
anything like that.
(I can add channels manually just fine).
However, when I try and populate the channels for the input source from
mythtv-setup, I get "No channels are configured to use grabber". Example:
2009-01-26 13:56:23.242 Connected to database 'mythconverg' at host: localhost

I tried the usual tricks: deleting the tuner (I presume that is why this
is now sourceid 2) and re-adding, disconnecting the tuner/input connection
mapping, and going back to the main menu of mythtv-setup and trying
again. I searched with Google and saw something like this for firewire
connectec tuners back in 0.21, but this setup is virtually the same as my
0.20 box.
It might help if I new what it is trying to tell me when it says "No
channels are configured to use grabber".
The schedule on SD has some channels disabled -- could that be an
issue? Is there some way to get mythtv-setup to tell me more verbosely
where the pain is? Somewhere where it logs? When mythtv-setup runs the
"internal" fetcher, what program runs (I could hack the source and tell it
to start logging to figure this out, if needs be).
In the database, in table videosources we see:
2 | HDConverterBox | schedulesdirect1 | <user> | default | PC:53717 |
<password> | 0 |
Table channel is empty.
Table cardinput has
| cardinputid | cardid | sourceid | inputname | externalcommand |
preference | shareable | tunechan | startchan | freetoaironly |
diseqc_port | diseqc_pos | lnb_lof_switch | lnb_lof_hi | lnb_lof_lo |
displayname | radioservices | dishnet_eit | recpriority | quicktune |
+-------------+--------+----------+-----------+-----------------+------------+-----------+----------+------------+---------------+-------------+------------+----------------+------------+------------+------------------+---------------+-------------+-------------+-----------+
| 4 | 1 | 2 | Tuner
1 | | 0 | N | | Please add
| 1 | NULL | NULL | 11700000 | 10600000
| 9750000 | HD Converter Box | 1 | 0 | 0
| 0 |
+-------------+--------+----------+-----------+-----------------+------------+-----------+----------+------------+---------------+-------------+------------+----------------+------------+------------+------------------+---------------+-------------+-------------+-----------+
Note that originally I had set this up as tuned to channel 4, but I removed
that when I started having problems, to see if that might help (it didn't).
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalp. 8^)
