I found this remote on Ebay:

 From the looks of it, it acts as a partial keyboard.  This is pretty 
cool - if it works.  It would mean that lirc is not needed at all; it 
would also let you map specific remotes to specific sessions.

I've looked at the keybidnings table in the database, and - ooomph.  Is 
there any tool that lets you edit that?
