I bought an HDHR last May and set it up with Comcast digital cable in
New Jersey.  I had access to all of the basic cable channels (food,
comedy, USA, Lifetime, etc.).

In October, they locked it all down.  I'm down to just broadcast (and
shopping) in the clear.

I've got a firewire connection to their set top box (Mototola
DCH-3200) that can still record some of these channels, but others
won't come in over the firewire connection, either.  It doesn't really
make much sense to me, since some of these channels are still sent in
the clear in their analog form.
