I don't find any error during make and make install 
Do you want that I post it ?

In the guide...
sudo cp /lib/modules/`uname -r`/misc/lirc* /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/ubuntu/lirc/lirc_imon/.

I tried 
sudo cp /lib/modules/`uname -r`/misc/lirc_imon.ko /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/ubuntu/lirc/lirc_imon/.
sudo cp /lib/modules/`uname -r`/misc/lirc_dev.ko /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/ubuntu/lirc/lirc_dev/.

now I received this:

root at video:~# dmesg | grep lirc

[   13.018449] lirc_imon: Unknown parameter `islcd'
