If you want a cleaner setup, you can just force feed the driver a copy 
of the EDID data.  Check out this page (http://analogbit.com/node/23) 
for instructions on how to do so.  I recently had to give my FE a 
modified EDID block because the TV was telling my card to try to output 
audio over DVI.
