Hi! You have made me feel better. I thought I had been suffering
alone. This board has been a bit of a disappointment to be honest. It
looked good on paper and I actually had to special order it. In the
end, it has caused me so much lost sleep.

I had seen your post about SPDIF and had saved it away for when I had
time to try it. I figured I would do that tonight and yes it works...

However... I had been thinking that my problems were audio related but
your comments have shown me that I am probably wrong. Looks like I am
now going to shop for a silent, low profile 8400 graphics card with
512MB RAM.

I forked out on an expensive low profile case as I figured everything
would run from the motherboard. Another mistake me thinks now....

I spent about an hour tonight searching local supplier websites and
came up trumps on the gainward card. I have found an MSI card though
that looks like it matches in spec. I might do some phoning around
tomorrow...
